Life Drawing Event Schedule in August

To prevent infection of Covid-19, please kindly sterilize your hands when you arrive at the studio and wear a mask during class. Be sure to make a reservation if you want to attend the class since we strictly manage the number of attendees. If you don't feel well, please don't hesitate to cancel the reservation and let us know about it.



Untutored, One-day Long and Short Pose (Sat./Sun.)
 

August 27th

 We will have a different model posing every Saturday/ Sunday.

Untutored long pose/short poses sessions in different two venues. Pease read the detail well before joining.

Evening session
Attendance fee: 2500 JPY
Doors open at 5:00 pm
Posing starts at 5:30 pm
Session is over at 8:10 pm

【Materials】We recommend that you bring your own materials that you are comfortable to work with, such as oil, watercolor, charcoal, pencils and so on. We still provide pencils, eraser and some pieces of paper free of charge. A sketchbook sold by 100 yen. We sell the instructor's recommended paper at cost by piece. Tables, chairs, drawing boards and easels available. If you wish to continue your painting, you can leave your canvas in our atelier.

【Materials】We recommend that you bring your own materials that you are comfortable to work with, including a drawing board and an easel if you need. We have limited number of chairs so it's recommended to bring a small sketchbook and move freely and change your spot. We can see the stage on which the model pose from 360° angle. If you want to use your own easel, please come to the venue around 4:30 pm.

Tutored Still Life/Figure Drawing/Painting Class (Thur. Morning, afternoon and evening)

 This is a full-tutored drawing/painting class. Appropriate for all levels, There is an instructor from whom you can get as much instruction as you want

On the morning and evening classes, we have some still life and plaster casts from which you can choose for drawing.

On the afternoon classes we will have Japanese models posing for us. Please check the curriculum be low.

You are welcome to attend one class or more where you could continue working on your drawing/painting.

Tutored Sculpture/Drawing Class (Sat. Afternoon on the 16th and 30th)

Instructor: Takashi Uesugi
Model: Brazilian man (nude)
 

 This is a full-tutored sculpture class, aiming to deepen understanding of human anatomy. Appropriate for all levels, beginners to experienced. You would benefit a lot from sculpting for your drawing skill as well.

There is an instructor from whom you can get as much instruction as you want, so feel free to take one or more class, no matter how much you are confident in sculpting.

【Class curriculum and models】

August 6th
Model: Brazilian man of Japanese descent (nude)
5 to 20 min.  short poses (120 min. in total)

20th and 27th
Model: Brazilian man of Japanese descent (nude)
Single long pose (20 min. x 6) each class
The same setup will be continued for two Saturday morning. 240 min. in total to make a completed work of art.

【Materials】
We sell materials at cost: sketchbook for 100 yen; good quality paper from 100 yen per piece; oil clay for 350 yen (for making a relief (half of head)) to 700 yen (for making a head); Relief board for 100 yen; mandrel for 500 or 1300 yen. Spatulas and knives are free to rent.

If you have your own materials, please bring yours.

If you wish to continue your sculpture, you can leave your materials in our atelier.
