Life Drawing Event Schedule in September

To prevent infection of Covid-19, please follow the rules as shown below.

1. When we judge that we cannot assure the safety of a model and attendees enough, or when we don't receive as many as attendees as five for each class, we would have to cancel the class. Please follow a notification from us.
2. Be sure to make a reservation if you want to attend the class since we strictly manage the number of attendees. If you don't feel well, please don't hesitate to cancel the reservation and let us know about it.
3. Please wear a mask during commuting and the class. If you forget wearing one, please talk to the organizer when you arrive.
4. Please wash your hands when you arrive at the studio, and sterilize your hand.
5. We open the windows and ventilate the air from three directions.


Tutored Sketch/Drawing Workshop (12th morning and Afternoon, 26th evening)
'Portrait Study (Cast Shadow and Form Shadow)'

Instructor: Sohei Yamamoto
Model: Spanish woman (12th) / Indian woman (26th)  

Full tutored sketch/drawing workshop by our new instructor, Sohei Yamamoto. He studied at art university in the states. Having had enough career in teaching, he is based in Shizuoka prefecture in Japan and holds several solo exhibitions every year all over Japan.
He will give you lecture and live drawing demonstration as well as an individual guidance. He will listen to you each, and lead your drawing practice as it profits you the most.
Tuition will be give in English and Japanese.

Tutored Still Life/Figure Drawing/Painting Class (Thu.)

This is a full-tutored drawing/painting class. Appropriate for all levels, There is an instructor from whom you can get as much instruction as you want.

On the morning and evening classes, we have some still life and plaster casts from which you can choose for drawing.

On the afternoon classes we will have Japanese models posing for us. Please check the curriculum below.

You are welcome to attend one class or more where you could continue working on your drawing/painting.

2nd

The same setup will be continued for four Thursdays. 480 min. in total to make a completed work of art.

Tutored Sculpture/Drawing Class (Sat. Morning)

Instructor: Takashi Uesugi
Model: American man (nude) 

This is a full-tutored sculpture class, aiming to deepen understanding of human anatomy. Appropriate for all levels, beginners to experienced. You would benefit a lot from sculpting for your drawing skill as well.

There is an instructor from whom you can get as much instruction as you want, so feel free to take one or more class, no matter how much you are confident in sculpting.

We will have an American model posing for us. The same model's setup will be continued for the four Saturday mornings in September.

【Class curriculum and models】

Model: American  man (nude) ★New model

September 4th (the first half)
5 min. x 4, 10 min. x 2 and 20 min short poses

September 4th (the latter half), 11th, 18th and 25th
Single long pose (20 min. x 3 on the 4th and 20 min. x 6 on the 11th and so on)
The same setup will be continued for four Thursdays. 420 min. in total to make a completed work of art.

【Materials】
We sell materials at cost: sketchbook for 100 yen; good quality paper from 100 yen per piece; oil clay for 350 yen (for making a relief (half of head)) to 700 yen (for making a head); Relief board for 100 yen; mandrel for 500 or 1300 yen. Spatulas and knives are free to rent.

If you have your own materials, please bring yours.

If you wish to continue your sculpture, you can leave your materials in our atelier.
